Clarion supports fire departments and EMS organizations with complex, role-based training requirements. These organizations need detailed credential tracking, external training workflows, approval processes, and user-level visibility that go beyond what a standard LMS configuration can support.

Out-of-the-box limitations created friction across several areas, including restricted user profile fields, time-intensive manual administration, limited support for field-based training, and a lack of personalized visibility for end users. To continue scaling their offering and meet customer expectations, Clarion needed custom solutions that worked within Docebo while addressing these constraints.

Extended User Profile Fields

Docebo typically limits user profiles to a fixed number of fields. Clarion required additional fields to accurately track licenses, certifications, and credentials issued by states and other governing bodies.

eSkillz implemented a solution to extend user profiles beyond this limitation, enabling expanded data capture while supporting integrations and license management processes.

Custom External Training Workflow

Most fire and EMS training takes place outside the LMS, on equipment, in the field, or during live exercises. Clarion needed a more flexible and robust external training process than what Docebo natively provides.

eSkillz built a custom external training workflow that supports structured submissions, approvals, and automated record creation. This process now supports the majority of Clarion’s training activity and significantly reduces manual administrative effort.

Personalized User Dashboards

Standard Docebo configurations do not offer personalized dashboards for end users. Previously, users relied on administrators to run reports to understand their training status.

eSkillz developed personalized dashboards using Learn Data, allowing users to log in and immediately see their progress across custom categories, improving transparency and self-service access.

Additional Platform Enhancements

Additional enhancements included branded banners and customized UI elements that originated from Clarion-specific requirements and further demonstrate the ability of eSkillz to adapt the platform to unique business needs.

Through this partnership, eSkillz provided Clarion with custom, creative solutions that addressed platform limitations and enabled Clarion to deliver a more flexible and scalable training experience. By extending Docebo functionality in targeted ways, eSkillz helped Clarion reduce administrative effort, streamline complex workflows, and improve both administrator and end-user experiences.

These solutions are now embedded into Clarion’s Docebo environment and support adoption across more than 500 fire departments across the country. With ongoing support and technical expertise from eSkillz, Clarion is positioned to continue scaling its offering while delivering a differentiated, purpose-built learning platform for public safety organizations.
